Music Ministry at Middleburg United Methodist Church
At Middleburg United Methodist Church, music is an integral part of our worship, seen as a joyous expression of the Holy Spirit rather than mere entertainment. Each week, our congregation actively participates in singing, embracing a variety of styles and genres including gospel, rock, praise, traditional piano and organ selections, hymn singing, solos, and choral pieces.
Our annual Christmas Pageant is a beloved tradition featuring children’s voices, an adult choir, and soloists, celebrating the season with heartfelt performances. Special services occasionally highlight Bluegrass groups and classical musicians, adding to the rich tapestry of our musical worship.
We draw from a range of musical sources such as the Methodist Hymnal, The Faith We Sing, various sheet music publications, and popular individual songs. Our weekly services are accompanied by our Steinway (1928) baby grand piano and Allen organ, both generously donated to the church. Additionally, the guitar is frequently used, especially in supporting children’s voices.
To support our vibrant music ministry, we have a dedicated music fund that is sometimes used to host special concerts as part of our community outreach efforts. Join us and experience the uplifting power of music in worship at Middleburg United Methodist Church.
